I just finished sewing up a skirt for myself and I even though I paid really careful attention when I adjusted the waist of the fitted pattern, it is still too big for me. I can get away with wearing it, but before I hem it for my shortness, I thought I would see if there was anyone out there that it would fit better.
The inside measurement of the waist is 40". It can be adjusted a bit up or down when the hook closure is added. It has a zipper and a modest back slit. The current garment length is 28.5", and is intended to have a 2" hem, but again... up or down as needed. There are two front darts, two back darts, and unfinished side seams if a little bit needs to be taken in/let out in the hips (currently 49").
The fabric is a wonderful, dark smoky-gray woven suede. My material costs are negligible, as I used what were essentially "scraps" from another project. There is an awfully cute matching hat.
Is there anyone out there who could make better use of this than me? I am going to put it aside and work on something else... If worst comes to worst I can always pull the waist facing off and remake that part, but I hate doing that *sigh*
