Camera Case

E-mail Print PDF

I have a fantastic Canon Rebel T1I camera, but I have a horrid habit of "tossing" it into my bag much like I did my far-less-expensive 5mp one I used to use.  I searched but was unable to find a simple camera cover that I liked, so I made one.  I am making the pattern and steps available to anyone else who might want to make something similar.

The pattern is straight forward and can be found on page 1 and page 2.

You will need less than half a yard of an outer-covering fabric, less than half a yard of an inner-lining fabric, and about half a yard of padding fabric. I used a black corduroy for the OUTER, a pretty red and black cotton print for the LINING, and a blue quilting backing for the PADDING.

Upcoming News...

For those of you who may not be aware, next week I am scheduled for some routine, outpatient surgery.  As a result, I may not be able to sew for a couple of weeks.  I am taking this oppurtunity to clean out my closets, so to speak, and mark down some inventory that has been around for a little while.

All Da'Carry Baby Carriers left in stock have been discounted.  They ship free, so order one for an expecting friend!  If you do not see what you are looking for, let me know what would work for you, and I will get you set up for a custom order.  Those will also ship free, so long as Mom's due date is before Jun, 2010.

I am putting together my Live Action Role Playing costuming orders; games that are currently on hiatus start back up in just a couple of months.  Now would be the time to get your requests in, especially if you are looking for a larger item such as a new coat or heavy cloak.

And Faire people, don't think you have much time to think about things; the 2010 season is right around the corner.  Do you really want to be seen in last year's rags?

To talk to me about any of your costuming (big people, little people, or people-yet-to-be), you can send me an e-mail, call me, or just make good use of that contact me link over there.

New Bodices

E-mail Print PDF

Matching in pattern, but not in fabric, these two gorgeous bodices were fun to put together, and even more fun to see on my human model.  Unfortunately, illness prevents me from taking those pictures, so for the moment you will have to use your imagination.

Purple Vest
Price: $35.00

The first bodice has three layers, all cotton, and is lightly boned.  It is machine-washable (gentle cycle), size 8-10, and available for sale.

Red Bodice

The second bodice has a black poly lining, a cotton strength layer, and a red embroidered taffeta outer layer. All seams are boned, although there is no top stitching; the bones are completely hidden.  It is dry clean only, size 8-10, and already promised to someone.

As always, check out the gallery for larger photos.

Personal News - October 2009

E-mail Print PDF

As some of you may remember, in April of this year I fell and broke my left shoulder.  After five months, it was still bothering me, especially after working for a few hours.  I went back to the specialist and, after a few tests, learned I have a spur impinging on the tendon.  Back to physical therapy I went. My PT is wonderful, but I was supposed to stay away the sewing machine until this week.  When I didn't, I suffered for it (although did manage to finish a lovely outfit, as well as a red cape).

I am nearly finished this round of therapy; my evaluation is next week.  At that point the specialist will decide what we will do next.  Meanwhile, I can work in twenty-minute intervals.  With that in mind, I have managed to finish a couple more beautiful projects: a purple bodice and a green demi-corset.

The cape and the bodice are available for sale.  The demi-corset will be shipped this week, while the other outfit has already been delivered.

I will have more photographs up in the gallery soon.  Meanwhile, isn't the demi-corset pretty?
